Hidden Arrow in FedEx Logo

I’m sure most of you already know what FedEx is. But did you realize that the FedEx logo contains an arrow in negative space between the E and X ? After you see the logo above, I’m sure you will. I guest that’s why FedEx become the progressive company in their field.

That was the creative thing i thought when you want to create a logo.  The process to creating a visualitations only from company visions and mission is the hardest part.

Logo is not a clipart

Yesterday me and my art director were went to my customer office to discuss about her brand new business.  We discuss about everything and do some brain storming. Brain storming is really needed when you creating an Identity Design. We talk about her vision and mission, her hobby, what is the business core, how is the feel that she want to show etc.

What’s make me shock during that discussion? She said that a designer has give her a price to creating a logo for her new company. He give her IDR 500.000 per logo. It really make us shock and i think Mr. Budiman Hakim will really sad to hear this. What logo that can they create using only IDR 500.000. Then i ask her, “Did he give you a logo guideline after the logo finish?”, she said ” I don’t Know. What is logo guideline? ”

Good website design

Yesterday my friends called. He said that his boss want to optimize his company website. Then i go to his company URL. And guest what i found. The website is fully created using flash. I’m not saying that his company website is not good. That really nice and easy to navigate. But Google and Yahoo really don’t like it because they can’t read the content.

Then what i suggest, redesign it if they want to make a Search Engine Friendly site without cutting the essential. I know this is a hard decisions to them. But they have to make a choice. If you want your website listing well by Google or Yahoo, you need to make a good layout and copy write. Use Flash only if you already have a Strong Brand.
